What scared him most were childhood tales of the fearsome Boogeyman, a shadowy figure who was coming to get him. He became obsessed by his irrational phobia, devoting all his time, attention and money to researching it. He found an ancient book that would allow him to determine the truth. But the ritual he performed changed him and brought out his darkest side, and made him the living embodiment of his fear. He had at last overcome his fear by becoming what terrified him most and would never scare him again.
