== The Hero Wars ==

During [[Crucible:The Hero Wars|the Hero Wars]], Black Sun became infected by the mutagenic virus that devastated much of the superhuman community. As his condition deteriorated, the years of rage and violence that had consumed him finally gave way to remorse.

Near the end of his life, Lucius Gray openly admitted regret for many of the atrocities he had committed.

Though he never abandoned his belief that parahumans had suffered injustice, he came to understand that terror and hatred had transformed him into something far removed from the hero he once wanted to be.

He died hoping history — and perhaps his children — might someday forgive him.
