Formed in the twilight years of the Cold War, the Babushka Directive was the brainchild of a desperate KGB handler who realized the perfect cover for a mobile death squad wasn’t a crack team of black-clad commandos—it was a van full of knitwear-wrapped old ladies. They could cross borders unnoticed, guilt civilians into silence, and vanish into a church potluck without leaving a trace. These four legendary agents were handpicked from various KGB departments, trained in brutal arts of espionage, sabotage, and social manipulation—and then given floral print dresses and sensible heels. Deployed to the U.S. under deep cover, they now pose as a traveling bridge club, roaming the country in their camouflaged minivan (The Yellow Rascal), engaging in covert missions… and bake sales. They frequently came up against superheroes, including Seeker and the Guardians, and became a particular foe of Rebel. === Olga “Iron Fang” Ivanovna – The Enforcer === A former Spetsnaz trainer with steel knuckles and a soft spot for lemon bars. She handles "interrogation" with warm milk and locked doors. Once snapped a man’s wrist while explaining the rules of rummy. === Yelena “Tea Cozy” Petrovna – The Spy Mistress === Ex-KGB disguise expert who can change identities faster than she can frost a cake. Famous for infiltrating an FBI holiday party as “Aunt Lena from HR.” Her bundt cakes contain listening devices—and sometimes plastique. === Raisa “Boom-Boom” Kirova – The Demolitions Queen === A cheerful former munitions engineer with a love of crocheting cozy little bombs. She once leveled a weapons depot using a bingo cage and three cans of condensed milk. === Svetlana “Hot Flash” Zhirinova – The Seductress === Once the KGB’s top honeypot, now just as deadly armed with perfume, flattery, and relentless passive-aggression. She once seduced a Pentagon attaché just to steal his lasagna recipe (and his keycard Motto: “We bake. We bless. We bury.” From church basements to spy bunkers, the Babushka Directive knits the thread of chaos, and covert destruction wherever they go.
