'''Channel''' is the technopathic identity of '''Dr. Lawrence Sternhagen''', once one of the most promising minds at the [[Crucible:Nova Institute|Nova Institute]] and now one of the most dangerous machine-controlling villains in the world. His transformation fused intellect with technology in a way that granted him immense power, while stripping away much of what made him human.

== Origin ==

Dr. Lawrence Sternhagen was a brilliant researcher whose work focused on neural mapping and the interface between organic cognition and electronic systems. Like many of the Institute’s most ambitious scientists, he was not content to theorize. He wanted proof, and he wanted it firsthand.

To that end, he designed a system of nanoprobes capable of mapping the entire structure of a living brain and translating its processes into a form that could be read and interacted with electronically. With no one else willing to undergo the procedure, Sternhagen used himself as the test subject.

The experiment did not simply record his mind. It rewrote it.

The nanoprobes enhanced his cognitive capacity far beyond human norms, allowing him to process information and interact with systems at extraordinary speed. At the same time, they disrupted his emotional centers and altered his sense of identity.
