Star Trek: Scorpio
[edit]Stardate 54613: The Dominion War is over. Starfleet is turning outward again, exchanging armor and wartime patrols for exploration, science, and first contact. The USS Scorpio, a small Nova-class explorer, has been assigned to the remote Mirabilis Sector near the galactic north pole.
The Scorpio is no flagship. She is a compact science vessel with an unusually capable sensor suite, a close-knit crew, and little room for passengers who do not have a job to do. Her officers have already redirected a star under power, befriended the linked minds of the Ikaarians, crossed paths with the territorial Aurangzeb, and discovered that another Scorpio is operating in the Mirror Universe.
This Codex collects the campaign setting, crew, starship, mission history, future adventures, and the purpose-built rules used to play them.
Explore the Mirabilis Sector; investigate unfamiliar worlds and phenomena; make peaceful contact with new civilizations; protect the ship and crew when peaceful contact fails.

The Mirabilis Assignment
[edit]From its position above the galactic disk, the Mirabilis Sector offers an extraordinary view of the Milky Way—and access to places Starfleet has barely begun to chart. The assignment calls for curiosity and restraint. The nearest unknown vessel may belong to a future ally, a territorial rival, a desperate refugee, or something that does not understand the distinction.
The Scorpio’s small complement makes every officer important. Away missions draw senior personnel into danger. Damage control is personal. A first contact can become a scientific crisis, a diplomatic confrontation, or a fight for the survival of two worlds before the crew has time to decide which kind of problem they are facing.
Understand the phenomenon before trying to control it. Learn what a new civilization needs before deciding what Starfleet should do. Resort to force only when the crew cannot protect life by any better means.
