Creator | Ed Messina |} Unofficially known as the Mutant Squad, the villains known as Factor M are militant extremists dedicated to parahuman rights and supremacy. The group believes humanity and parahumanity are engaged in an inevitable evolutionary conflict—a hidden war that will determine the future destiny of the planet. To Factor M, ordinary humans are a dying species clinging to obsolete institutions, while parahumans represent the next stage of evolution. The team views itself not as criminals, but as soldiers fighting on behalf of a superior future. Most of the members of Factor M were social outcasts long before becoming terrorists. Alienated, feared, exploited, or hunted because of their powers, they eventually banded together in anger and desperation. Under the leadership of Claw, the organization evolved into one of the most feared parahuman extremist groups of the Bronze and Modern Ages. Factor M has been linked to bombings, assassinations, kidnappings, attacks on government facilities, and numerous acts of politically motivated destruction. Though the team frequently targets institutions associated with anti-parahuman policies, civilians have often been caught in the crossfire. The group’s rhetoric and actions have made them one of the most controversial organizations in modern superhuman history. Some marginalized parahumans quietly sympathize with their grievances, even while condemning their methods. Although the team remains active, many members of Factor M are currently serving sentences in PHASE II custody. == Members == <div class="cc-roster-grid"> <div class="cc-roster-card"> Claw<br> Zebulon Falke is a former elite soldier who became a militant revolutionary. The group’s existence intensified public anxiety regarding superhumans and contributed directly to the expansion of organizations such as PHASE II and HAVOC. Though widely condemned as terrorists, Factor M forced the world to confront difficult questions regarding discrimination, fear, and the treatment of parahumans within modern society.
