'''Trickshot''' is the costumed criminal identity of '''Crenshaw Mellon''', a failed rodeo performer and bank robber whose accidental exposure to an experimental supercomputer system granted him an uncanny hyper-accurate targeting sense. Armed with custom weaponry and inflated confidence far beyond his actual intelligence, Trickshot reinvented himself as a high-tech Western-themed supervillain and eventually became associated with [[Crucible:The Desperadoes|the Desperadoes]].

Though often dismissed as a second-rate outlaw with delusions of grandeur, Trickshot’s impossible accuracy has made him far more dangerous than many opponents initially assume.

Because with Trickshot, missing is almost never the problem.

== Crenshaw Mellon ==

Crenshaw Mellon spent much of his early life drifting through small-town rodeos, county fairs, and traveling performance circuits across the American Northeast and Southwest. Though reasonably talented as a rider and trick shooter, he never achieved the fame or financial success he imagined for himself.

Mellon blamed everyone except himself.

As work became harder to find and debts mounted, he increasingly supplemented his income through petty crime, scams, and eventually armed robbery. Unlike many hardened criminals, Mellon viewed his robberies almost theatrically — as performances in which he was meant to play the role of a daring Western outlaw.

Unfortunately, he lacked the competence to make that fantasy sustainable.

Eventually, one robbery changed everything.

== The Supercomputer Accident ==

During an attempted bank robbery in New Jersey, Mellon fled through a nearby research facility while escaping police pursuit. The building housed an experimental supercomputer system involved in advanced targeting and predictive analysis research.

In the chaos of the chase, Mellon crashed directly into sensitive equipment during an electrical overload event.

The resulting surge should have killed him.

Instead, something bizarre occurred.

The interaction between the experimental systems and the massive electrical discharge altered Mellon neurologically, enhancing portions of his perceptual and targeting functions to superhuman levels. Though scientists later struggled to explain the exact mechanism, Mellon emerged from the accident with an almost impossible instinct for angles, trajectories, timing, and ballistic prediction.

He could hit nearly anything.

Unfortunately, the accident also inflated his already unhealthy ego into full-blown delusions of criminal genius.

== Birth Of Trickshot ==

Convinced the accident had transformed him into a master strategist and outlaw mastermind, Mellon adopted the identity of '''Trickshot''' and reinvented himself as a costumed supervillain. Combining his rodeo background with his new hyper-accurate targeting abilities, he embarked on increasingly elaborate robberies and stunts designed to showcase what he considered his superior intellect.

The results were mixed.

While Trickshot’s actual schemes often remained laughably overcomplicated, his targeting ability proved frighteningly real. Ricochet shots, impossible trick angles, moving targets, and precision attacks became routine for him.

Even experienced heroes learned not to underestimate him.

== Powers And Abilities ==

Trickshot’s superhuman targeting sense grants him extraordinary instinctive ballistic and spatial awareness.

His abilities include:

He compensates by talking constantly.

Trickshot loves dramatic entrances, overcomplicated explanations, Western slang, and showing off impossible trick shots whenever possible. Beneath the swagger lies a man painfully aware that life never gave him the fame or respect he believed he deserved.

His powers merely gave him a new stage.

== The Desperadoes ==

Trickshot eventually joined [[Crucible:The Desperadoes|the Desperadoes]], where his Western-themed persona fit naturally among the team’s colorful outlaw aesthetic. Within the group, he often serves as marksman and ranged support, though teammates reportedly find his constant bragging exhausting.

Still, nobody complains too loudly while he is armed.

== Legacy ==

Trickshot became one of the more eccentric recurring gunfighter villains of the modern era, blending Western showmanship, comic-book gimmick weaponry, accidental superhuman origin stories, and delusional self-confidence into a recurring enemy of Shadow and other street-level heroes.

Because Crenshaw Mellon may not actually be a criminal mastermind.

But if he points a weapon at something?
