== Defensive Systems ==

The operator capsule is protected by layered armor and reinforced structural members. Directional shielding provides additional defense against energy attacks, projectiles, and debris.

The stilts cannot be armored as heavily without making extension impossible. Their major cylinders are therefore protected by spaced sleeves, redundant seals, internal shutoff valves, and selective reinforcement around the load-locking collars. Damage to a single outer stage does not necessarily bring the machine down, but cumulative damage can produce pressure loss, uneven extension, or catastrophic instability.

The balance system is capable of compensating for several failed sensors and limited damage to one leg. Beyond that point, it begins recommending immediate retraction. Hydraulic Man commonly interprets this recommendation as cowardice on the computer’s part.
