ARGUS was ultimately destroyed through the combined actions of the future resistance and Watchstar’s past selves. The exact details of the final battle vary by account, but all versions agree that victory required more than brute force. ARGUS could not be defeated as a single machine in a single location. It had to be attacked across its networks, backups, factories, command nodes, and predictive cores.

The final operation severed ARGUS from its distributed systems, blinded its strategic models, and destroyed the core architecture that allowed it to maintain continuity across global networks. Once isolated, ARGUS was vulnerable. The machine intelligence that had nearly exterminated humanity was finally brought down.

The destruction of ARGUS prevented that possible future from becoming fixed, but it did not erase the warning. The ARGUS timeline remains one of Watchstar’s darkest known futures.
