== Oz Traynor's Role ==

From the Lair, [[Oz Traynor]] monitors and supports Night Shift during their missions. Oz serves as a communications coordinator, systems operator, information analyst, and mission support presence when the team is in the field.

Oz and Cyrus first learned to work this way in a special forces technical unit in the United States Army. Their old unit specialized in communications, field surveillance, electronic countermeasures, signal intelligence, and keeping delicate systems alive in places where no delicate system had any right to survive. Cyrus brought the tools, instincts, and field engineering habits of that life into the Lair. Oz brought the calm voice on the radio, the quick eye for patterns, and the ability to keep a mission from falling apart when everything on the screen turns red at once.

His work is often invisible but essential. He tracks movement, watches police activity, checks maps, pulls records, monitors emergency channels, coordinates extraction routes, and warns the team when something is moving toward them. When Night Shift members are cut off, wounded, lost, or walking into a trap, Oz may be the only friendly voice still connected to them.

Oz’s presence also gives the Lair a second rhythm. Cyrus built the place and remains its master, but Oz keeps its systems alive during operations. He is the man at the monitors while others are on the rooftops, in the tunnels, or breaking down the wrong door just in time.
