== Portraits of Vannimar ==

There is no single canonical portrait of Vannimar.

One of the most common Rhone images is a hooded figure seated at a desk or standing before a night sky, the face partly lost in shadow. Only the eyes are visible, often rendered in silver. The figure may hold a closed book rather than an open one, emphasizing that wisdom lies not merely in reading but in deciding when knowledge should be applied.

Another old image depicts a child with mirrored eyes. The symbolism is deliberately unsettling: the child possesses little experience but sees without many of the assumptions accumulated by adults. Such depictions are especially common in philosophical schools that emphasize questioning inherited certainty.

In Sarrivel, Vannimar is frequently represented among scholars, rhetoricians, navigators, and astronomers. In Rhess, the Eye-Circle appears on moot stones and places where testimony is heard. Along some coasts the Knower becomes the '''Deep Whisper'', the insight that tells sailors what lies beyond the visible horizon.

None of these portraits is believed definitive.
