== The Long March ==

The '''Long March''' is the distinctive battle-advance of the Uragh war-host.

Although a warband may cross enormous distances mounted on torraks, the animals are normally led or driven behind the line once battle is near. Shields come down from backs and packs. Spears are taken in hand. Drums begin.

Then the Uragh advance on foot.

Drums, footfall, growled chants, and cadence keep large bodies moving together. The sound can be unnerving even before the line is visible: a low thunder of feet and voices carried across the grass.

Enemies accustomed to armies tied to wagons and roads can still find Uragh strategic mobility deeply unsettling. Torraks allow the clans to concentrate forces with remarkable speed, while the Uragh themselves remain capable of hard marching when terrain or battle requires it.

A force believed days away may arrive tomorrow.

A defeated warband may scatter onto the plains, remount beyond pursuit, and vanish into open country rather than allow itself to be trapped.

The plains themselves are part of the Uragh art of war.
