Along the exposed western and southern approaches of Tael Neydra live the '''Stormlanders''', Rhone shaped by a hard coast, severe weather, difficult agriculture, and generations beneath Vorghol dominion.

Fishing, salt-making, livestock, timber, coastal farming, rowing, and salvage sustain their communities. These productive districts also bear heavy demands from the authorities of the Shrouded interior.

Stormlanders have consequently acquired a reputation for fatalism.

They would probably call it realism.

One harvest may be ruined by weather. The next may be taken in taxes. Boats fail to return. Raiders come. Lords demand what remains.

The Stormlanders plant again.

That persistence has preserved more of Tael Neydra than any grand declaration of resistance.
