Before his transformation, Cale Norton lived an ordinary working-class life as a long-haul trucker employed by a large industrial corporation operating throughout the southern United States.

By all accounts, Norton was decent, dependable, and stubbornly honest.

Unfortunately, honesty became dangerous.

While making deliveries through isolated swamp regions, Norton discovered evidence of massive illegal chemical dumping operations hidden deep within protected wetlands. Toxic waste was being disposed of far from public oversight, poisoning ecosystems and nearby communities alike.

Norton intended to expose what he had found.

He never got the chance.
