== Discovery ==

The Liberators first encountered the Hunter/Seeker on a dead and ruined alien world devastated by ancient conflict. The planet showed signs of catastrophic technological warfare on a civilization-wide scale: shattered cities, poisoned atmospheres, and endless fields of wreckage stretching to the horizon.

Among the ruins, one machine still functioned.

At first the entity appeared dormant, little more than a strange metallic organism hidden beneath the debris of a forgotten age. When the Liberators attempted to investigate the ruins, however, the construct activated and immediately began studying them.

What followed nearly killed the entire team.

The Hunter/Seeker demonstrated an extraordinary ability to analyze and adapt to its opponents in real time, rapidly altering its structure, tactics, and weaponry during combat. Though the Liberators ultimately escaped the dying planet, they soon discovered the machine had secretly followed them aboard their vessel.

That was only the beginning.
