== Background ==

Duke Ranya Varanyis was born into the highest ranks of Karnak nobility, raised within the imperial court and trained from an early age in both leadership and warfare. His upbringing instilled in him a strict code of honor, shaped by the Karnak ideals of strength, discipline, and duty.

His life—and his Empire—were shattered by betrayal.

A catastrophic civil war erupted within the [[Crucible:Karnak Empire|Karnak Empire]], driven by internal treachery. In the brutal conflict that followed, Ranya fought on the front lines, ultimately suffering mortal wounds in battle.
