== A People of the Road and Hearth ==

Tobon are shorter than Rhone, generally standing somewhere around the height of a Rhone child approaching adolescence, though their proportions are those of adults. They are sturdy rather than delicate, with considerable variation in complexion, hair, features, and dress.

Their small stature has shaped aspects of Tobon material culture without defining it.

Stayfolk houses are naturally built to Tobon proportions. Wanderfolk wagons make remarkably efficient use of limited space. Furniture, tools, harness, storage, and domestic spaces are made for people who do not require Rhone dimensions.

In mixed settlements, accommodations can become more complicated.

A Tobon inn built for Tobon guests may be uncomfortable for a Rhone traveler. A Rhone tavern counter can reach an inconvenient height. Markets frequented by several Kindreds often solve the problem with steps, platforms, low counters, and the accumulated improvisations of generations.

The Tobon themselves generally regard such difficulties as ordinary facts of life rather than profound cultural questions.
