== The Cataclysm ==

The fall of Atlantis remains one of the great unresolved mysteries of Earth’s hidden history. Around 8000 B.C., a titanic earthquake shattered the island’s foundations. Volcanoes erupted, the sea rose in impossible walls, and the land itself broke apart. Within a single night and day, Atlantis vanished beneath the Atlantic.

The scale of the disaster does not fit ordinary tectonic models. Magical residue has been detected in deep-sea surveys, especially around the central ruins, where stonework remains fused, twisted, or crystallized in patterns inconsistent with simple volcanic heat. Certain Atlantean inscriptions also refer to “the breaking of the pillars below the world” and “the sea answering the command of the crown,” though the meaning of these phrases remains disputed.

Some occult historians believe the final disaster was caused by a failed royal ritual. Others believe Atlantis was attacked by rival sorcerers, sea-gods, extradimensional entities, or rebels from within its own empire. A darker theory holds that the Atlanteans deliberately sank their own kingdom to seal away something beneath it.
