== The Enchanted Spring ==

During an expedition deep into remote wilderness territory, Caine reportedly encountered a mysterious Indigenous shaman who warned him against disturbing a sacred spring hidden high within the mountains.

Caine ignored the warning.

After drinking from the spring, he soon discovered something impossible had happened to him. Wounds healed unnaturally fast. Illness vanished entirely. His already formidable strength and endurance increased dramatically.

More disturbing still:

he stopped aging.

Whether the spring granted immortality intentionally or cursed him accidentally remains unknown.

Mountain Man himself no longer seems to care.
