== Keshranavalli Chitramukha, City of Masks == Known simply as Keshran, this city lives beneath a thousand faces. Here, masks are not confined to festivals. They are worn in daily life, in trade, in courtship, and in betrayal. Identity is fluid, and certainty is rare. To show one’s true face is considered either an act of great trust—or great foolishness. The city is alive with color and sound. Music drifts through its streets at all hours, laughter rises easily, and yet beneath it all is the constant sensation of being observed. Not watched openly, but noted, remembered, and weighed. The maskwrights hold quiet influence, for they craft not only disguises but identities. The Silent Court moves unseen among them, a network of informants and spies whose reach extends into every household of consequence. Above it all stand the festival priests, who maintain the cycles of celebration that define the city’s rhythm. Yet something has begun to fracture. A noble’s identity has been taken—not stolen in the ordinary sense, but erased and replaced so thoroughly that none can say who they truly are. Masks have been found that whisper to their wearers, offering guidance in voices not their own. And during the last great festival, violence erupted in the streets, not from hatred, but from confusion—no one certain who stood before them. In Keshran, the question is not who you are. It is who you are believed to be. ----
