Fleeing human society entirely, Nobile vanished underground and began constructing an enormous hidden lair using stolen machinery, experimental drilling systems, scavenged technology, and underground tunnel networks stretching for miles beneath major cities.

Re-emerging as '''the Human Mole''', he declared himself master of the subterranean world and vowed revenge against the surface civilization that had mocked and rejected him.

Unfortunately for everyone else, his plans usually involved:

* earthquakes
* volcanic eruptions
* collapsing cities
* giant underground invasions
* or all four simultaneously
