== Nations Of Terra Ultima == Terra Ultima’s political map was dominated by several major powers, each shaped by the planet’s distinctive geography and long history. Among the best known were the '''NorthAm Confederation''', the '''Oceanic Union''', the '''Polar Republic''', and the western empire known as the '''Alliance'''. The '''NorthAm Confederation''' was one of Terra Ultima’s leading powers, occupying much of the northern continental region that roughly corresponded to portions of North America on Earth-11717, though its borders, political culture, and historical development were entirely different. It was a federal state, technologically advanced, militarily capable, and deeply invested in the idea of continental stability. The '''Oceanic Union''' was a maritime power built across island chains, coastal arcologies, floating cities, and sea-linked territories. Its influence rested on trade, naval power, ocean engineering, and control of major sea routes. The Union was cosmopolitan, wealthy, and often at odds with continental powers that underestimated the political strength of the oceans. The '''Polar Republic''' occupied the high-latitude regions of Terra Ultima, including habitable polar territories made viable through advanced climate engineering and ancient settlement traditions. It was austere, disciplined, scientifically respected, and strategically important because of its control over polar transit, orbital launch corridors, and cold-region resources.
