== A Kindred of Many Faces ==

There is no single Rhone appearance.

Rhone populations have lived across an enormous range of country for centuries, from cold northern forests and mountain valleys to river plains, storm coasts, marshes, islands, and warmer southern lands. Complexions, hair, eyes, stature, and build vary accordingly.

Clothing varies still more. A courtier of [[Sigil:Corvessa|Corvessa]] and a Northerling beneath a felt shelter could scarcely be mistaken for members of the same society.

The Rhone themselves notice such differences readily. Accent, clothing, hairstyle, jewelry, manners, food, and even the way someone saddles a horse or handles a boat may reveal where that person was raised.

Usually these distinctions matter more in daily life than Kindred.

A Rhessian meeting an Angharan is unlikely to think first, ''Here is another Rhone.''

He is more likely to think, ''An Angharan.''

And an Angharan Highlander may recognize something familiar in a Highlander from Rhess that neither sees in the Lowlanders of his own realm.
