== Superhuman Studies ==

The Nova Institute has long been associated with superpowered individuals and remains one of the leading research centers studying the sources, mechanisms, and limits of superhuman abilities. Its researchers investigate genetic parahuman expression, radiation-based transformations, exotic energy exposure, alien biological influence, magical or quasi-magical anomalies, cybernetic enhancement, and unexplained power emergence.

The Institute’s metahuman research is not limited to laboratory analysis. It includes medical care, counseling, power measurement, hazard assessment, public-policy studies, and work on technologies designed to help superhumans control or safely use their abilities. Many young or newly empowered individuals have passed through Nova Institute programs, either voluntarily or through referrals by families, courts, hospitals, heroes, or government agencies.

The Institute’s relationship with the superhero community is complex. Some heroes regard it as an invaluable source of expertise. Others distrust any institution that studies powers too closely. Supervillains, naturally, have targeted it repeatedly for data, equipment, test subjects, or revenge.
