== The Eidra ==

Between mortal beings and the Powers stand the [[Sigil:Eidra|Eidra]].

The Eidra are messengers, servants, emanations, and agents shaped by the Powers to act within the world. Some appear in visions. Some walk disguised among mortals. Others enter dreams, guard sacred places, deliver warnings, or intervene at moments when the balance of things has been dangerously disturbed.

They are not a separate race in the ordinary sense.

An Eidron belongs to the purpose from which it was made.

Old tales speak of mysterious travelers who appeared at the moment they were needed: a beggar whose words humbled a cruel lord, a warrior who fought for a single night and disappeared before dawn, a silent stranger who taught some forgotten craft and was never seen again.

Whether such tales describe actual Eidra is impossible to prove.

For this reason, hospitality has acquired a peculiar religious weight in much of the Sigil Lands.

The stranger at the door may simply be hungry.

Or perhaps not.
