== Life and Saël ==

Saël moves especially strongly through living things. Plants, animals, mortal peoples, ancient trees, great beasts, and entire ecosystems all participate in the Breath, though participation does not make every living creature supernatural. Life is simply one of the places where change, relationship, and memory become especially dense.

This is why an old forest is more than timber. A herd is more than meat. A valley shaped by ten thousand years of habitation is more than soil and water. Every living system contains relationships that have developed over time, and those relationships can become Saëlic patterns in their own right.

The [[Sigil:Seylandri|Seylandri]] understood this long before the Rhone possessed a word for it. Their ancient tree-cities were not simply structures built among living things; they were grown through long relationships among people, trees, water, song, and place. When the Great Wrath burned those forests, something more than vegetation was lost.

The world itself had been wounded.
