== Wisdom and Uncertainty ==

Perhaps the most distinctive Vannimari virtue is comfort with uncertainty.

Mortals dislike not knowing.

Uncertainty is uncomfortable, and certainty offers the pleasing illusion of solid ground. People therefore make conclusions too quickly, defend inherited assumptions, mistake confidence for competence, and cling to explanations long after evidence has turned against them.

Vannimar teaches otherwise.

'''I do not know''' is sometimes the wisest answer available.

It leaves the door open.

This attitude shapes much of Triadic theology. The Powers unquestionably exist, yet priests readily admit that their ultimate origins remain uncertain. The Makers existed, yet their nature is unknown. The Far Fields await the dead, yet no living theologian can describe what existence there is actually like.

Such mysteries are not failures of faith.

They are reminders of scale.

To pretend certainty where none exists would dishonor Vannimar more deeply than admitting ignorance.
