== Defensive Systems ==

A Megatron’s first defense was simple mass. Its armored body could absorb enormous punishment, while its height and reach made close assault dangerous. Beneath the armor, redundant motor systems and compartmentalized control nodes allowed the robot to continue fighting even after losing limbs, sensors, or external weapons.

Some Megatrons also employed force screens, smoke vents, signal jammers, anti-missile countermeasures, and automated repair systems. A few models were designed with layered armor that could peel away under damage, leaving a still-functional core machine underneath. These features made the robots frustratingly difficult to stop quickly, especially in crowded urban areas where the Unity League had to protect civilians while fighting.
