The Dark Empire wages war with more than men.

Its arsenals produce engines of destruction that set it apart from the battered realms it invades. Siege engines, artillery, armored vehicles, mechanical horrors, chemical weapons, and relic-based contrivances all contribute to its fearsome power. Some are merely advanced by comparison with the medieval remnants of Europe. Others are truly uncanny, survivors or reinventions from a world far older and stranger than most common folk can imagine.

These engines do more than break fortifications. They break morale. A city that might resist ordinary siege can lose heart when it sees walls cracked by impossible bombardment, towers burning with strange fire, defenders choking under unnatural fumes, or monstrous machines rolling through smoke like living blasphemies. Granbretan understands that terror multiplies force. Its warcraft is designed not just to kill, but to overwhelm the imagination.

The empire’s genius lies in combination. A conquered land may face disciplined troops, masked nobles, flying machines, engineers, saboteurs, and terror devices all at once. Even brave rulers can find themselves outmatched not because their people lack courage, but because they are fighting an enemy from a different order of history.
