== Animal Intelligence Program ==

Recently, the Nova Institute has received severe bad press for its controversial program to enhance animal intelligence. Originally presented as a humane and scientifically responsible investigation into cognition, communication, and uplift theory, the program quickly became one of the most divisive projects in the Institute’s history.

Supporters argued that the research could transform humanity’s relationship with other species, allowing genuine communication with animals, improved treatment of intelligent nonhuman life, and breakthroughs in neuroscience. Critics warned that the program was ethically reckless, legally unprepared, and dangerously vague about the rights of enhanced animals.
