Starblaze met her end alongside her teammates in one of the most famous—and tragic—missions of the Silver Age.

While operating in deep space with [[Crucible:The Crusaders|the Crusaders]], the team encountered a massive stellar instability that escalated into a full supernova event. In its path lay a populated world with no means of escape. With only moments to act, the Crusaders made a collective decision.

They did not retreat.

Combining their powers, they formed a protective barrier around the planet, absorbing and redirecting the unimaginable energies of the exploding star. The effort succeeded—the world was saved—but the cost was absolute. The Crusaders were consumed in the process, their final act one of deliberate sacrifice.

Starblaze was at the center of that effort, channeling and stabilizing vast energies far beyond even her considerable limits.

It was the kind of act that had defined her life. It was also the last.
