== Rhughash and War ==

Rhughash is closely associated with warriors because war exposes many of the qualities he is believed to judge, but calling him a god of war is misleading. He does not represent conquest, strategy, bloodshed, or victory for their own sake. A battle is only one of many places in which strength may be revealed.

Indeed, Uragh traditions contain numerous tales in which a victorious warrior is judged poorly while a defeated one is honored. A commander who wins through treachery against sworn allies may be weaker in Rhughash's sight than the enemy who held formation knowing the cause was lost. A warrior who boasts after killing the helpless has demonstrated power but not strength. A chief who orders others into danger while remaining safely behind may retain authority among mortals but lose standing in the stories told after his death.

Rhughash does not care who claims victory.

He cares who endured, who kept faith, who carried the burden that was theirs, and who broke when breaking was avoidable.

This distinction makes him demanding even for those who win.
