Its defenses are older and subtler.

Paths wander from where travelers remember them. Mists gather where none were expected. Streams and forest tracks lead the unwary away from places they intended to reach. Standing stones mark boundaries whose significance outsiders seldom recognize. Harmonic wards are woven into particular places, and singing markers carry warnings and messages comprehensible to those who know how to hear them.

Watchers move through the forest without announcing themselves.

A traveler may therefore approach Seylannon without ever discovering where its border begins.

This concealment is not merely defensive technique.

It expresses a fundamental Seylandri principle.

Seylannon does not wish to be found.
