'''The BlueBulldog''' is the costumed identity of '''Hayward Loxtercamp''', an unlikely superhero whose absolute belief in justice—and in himself—somehow translated into very real superhuman power.

== Background ==

Hayward Loxtercamp was just your average substitute gym teacher from Sheboygan with a love of protein shakes, amateur philosophy, and ''The Rockford Files''. That is, until the Bulldog of Justice appeared to him in what he calls a "cosmic astral plane of purpose."

No one else saw it. No one else heard the glowing bulldog speak. But to Hayward, it was as real as thunder:

<blockquote>''“You are chosen, Hayward Loxtercamp, to become the Blue Bulldog—the eternal sniffer-out of villainy! To you is entrusted the Barking Flame of Justice! Take up the cowl! Lick the face of fear!”''</blockquote>

Was it a dream? Hallucination? A side effect of expired cottage cheese? Who knows? All that matters is: Hayward believed it.

He made his own costume from a mix of kevlar, football padding, glittery fabric, and craft-store felt. He stitched a bulldog logo onto his chest and glued floppy dog ears to a reinforced helmet. He got to work immediately—breaking up muggings, pulling cats from trees, and occasionally arresting meter maids (he later apologized).

Somewhere along the way, he ''actually got superpowers''. No origin, no lab accident, no alien serum. Just one day, his fists started breaking concrete. His skin didn’t bruise anymore. And he could leap over city blocks with a growl.

No one knows how or why. Not even Hayward. But he took it as proof:

Blue Bulldog possesses a suite of straightforward but formidable superhuman abilities.

== Personality ==

Hayward is earnest to a fault. He believes in justice the way children believe in fairy tales—completely, joyfully, and without irony.

He refers to criminals as “baddies,” calls fire hydrants “Justice Posts,” and refuses to swear, substituting phrases like “bad darn!” and “heckin’ heck!” His sincerity makes him beloved by children, tolerated by fellow heroes, and deeply frustrating to any form of official authority.

== Reputation ==

Blue Bulldog occupies a strange place in the superhero community. His effectiveness is undeniable, but his methods, demeanor, and unclear origin make him difficult to categorize.

To the public, he is a folk hero.  
To bureaucrats, he is a walking liability.  
To himself, he is simply doing what the Bulldog of Justice told him to do.

== Legacy ==

Whether Blue Bulldog’s powers stem from latent metahuman potential, a psychological break that rewrote reality around him, or something stranger still remains unknown.

What is certain is this: Hayward Loxtercamp believes.

And somehow, that’s enough.
