== Background ==

Mrs. Doris Rodham Nelson is the widowed mother of the supervillain [[Crucible:Loco|Loco]], and one of the more notorious civilian figures connected to the superhuman underworld.

Long before her son became a costumed criminal, Doris supported him through his brief and chaotic career as a professional wrestler. When he later reinvented himself as the supervillain Loco, Doris remained just as loyal and enthusiastic, proudly defending her son despite openly acknowledging his shortcomings.

As Doris herself frequently explains:

Loco regularly sends a portion of his criminal earnings home to his “Maw,” which Doris spends on lottery tickets, crocheting supplies, cigarettes, and cases of Night Train wine.

Doris briefly gained superhuman powers after suffering severe injuries in an accident that required an emergency blood transfusion. With no other compatible donor available, Loco himself provided the blood. The transfusion temporarily granted Doris a diluted version of her son’s incredible strength and durability.

Rather than quietly recovering, Doris joined Loco on a destructive rampage across central Texas, leaving overturned vehicles, wrecked bars, and demolished convenience stores in their wake before eventually being stopped by [[Crucible:Rebel|Rebel]].

Following the incident, Doris returned to civilian life. She now lives quietly at the E-Z Livin' Trailer Park in Laredo, Texas, where she spends her time visiting her son in prison, watching professional wrestling every Sunday, and irritating nearly everyone around her.

== Skills And Personality ==

Doris is loud, stubborn, sharp-tongued, and almost impossible to intimidate. She possesses an endless supply of unsolicited opinions and a seemingly supernatural ability to produce cigarettes under any circumstances.

She is also highly skilled at crochet, knitting, sewing, and keeping score during bowling games.

Doris Nelson became a recurring comedic figure within the ''REBEL'' series, representing the bizarre and often deeply human family lives that exist behind the costumes and chaos of the superhero world.
