Rayell Voryn originated from '''Lumisara''', an immensely advanced civilization built within a colossal Dyson Sphere surrounding a distant star. Powered by harvested stellar energy and sustained by technologies centuries beyond those of Earth, Lumisara represented one of the great utopian societies of known space.

Disease, poverty, and warfare had largely been eliminated. Science and philosophy flourished beneath endless artificial skies illuminated by captured starlight.

Yet Voryn became increasingly obsessed not with life, but with death.

Specifically, the death of stars.

== Forbidden Experiments ==

Voryn believed that dying stars and black holes concealed deeper truths about the structure and ultimate fate of the universe. While mainstream Lumisaran science considered such research recklessly dangerous, Voryn became convinced that mastering gravitational collapse would unlock nearly limitless energy and transcendence itself.

Ignoring repeated warnings, he conducted increasingly extreme experiments involving singularities, stellar collapse, and forbidden cosmic energies.

The final experiment ended in catastrophe.

Something inside the containment systems failed, exposing Voryn directly to forces beyond ordinary comprehension. Rather than being destroyed, his body and consciousness fused with energies associated with a newborn artificial black hole.

Rayell Voryn survived.

But what emerged from the disaster was no longer entirely mortal.

His growing cult of followers viewed Dreadstar not merely as a destroyer, but as a prophet revealing the universe’s ultimate truth: that existence itself is temporary, fragile, and meaningless before cosmic entropy.

Dreadstar’s campaigns eventually forced heroes, civilizations, and alien empires across the galaxy to unite against him. Even rival cosmic powers who normally despised one another recognized the necessity of opposing him.
