I don’t look away.” <br>— Graveyard Jack </div> Graveyard Jack is the road name of John Henry Coffin, a long-haul trucker turned full-time monster hunter who prowls the highways and backroads of America. Armed with grit, experience, and a growing knowledge of the occult, he has become one of the few men who actively hunts the things that haunt the night—and survives. == Origin == Jack Coffin was an ordinary long-haul driver hauling freight across the American West when he rolled into a nameless town in Nevada and found something waiting for him. Not trouble. Something worse. A pack of werewolves had taken the place apart, and the people who were left were just trying to live through the night. Jack didn’t run. He helped fight. He improvised, he adapted, and somehow he made it through. His girlfriend Lizzie didn’t. That was the night the road changed for him. == Becoming Graveyard Jack == Hunter didn’t go back to a normal life. He couldn’t. What he’d seen wouldn’t let him. Instead, he started asking questions—quiet ones, in the wrong places, to the right people. Scholars, drifters, occultists, crackpots. Anyone who might know something. Most of them did. Piece by piece, Jack taught himself how to recognize, track, and fight the supernatural. What started as survival became something else. A job. A calling. Maybe penance. Somewhere along the line, people started calling him Graveyard Jack. He didn’t argue. == Life On The Road == Jack still drives his rig, Gracie, across the country, but he’s not hauling freight the way he used to. Now he follows rumors—missing persons, strange sightings, towns that go quiet after dark. He listens to late-night radio, bar talk, and truck stop whispers. Where something’s wrong, he shows up. Where something’s worse, he stays. He doesn’t advertise. He doesn’t take contracts. But word travels. There are people who know the name, and when things go bad enough, they know to hope he’s somewhere nearby. == Skills == Jack has no superpowers, but he is extremely capable and very hard to kill. * Expert marksman * Exceptional driver (“anything with wheels”) * Self-taught occult specialist * High endurance; functions on little sleep * Improvisational fighter against unknown threats He survives by learning faster than the things trying to kill him. == Equipment == Jack keeps his tools simple, personal, and reliable. * “Betty” – His grandfather’s pistol, trusted above all else * Long-haul rig Gracie, maintained like a lifeline * Assorted weapons and tools adapted for supernatural threats If it doesn’t work, he doesn’t carry it. == Personality == Jack is blunt, dry, and unshakable. He doesn’t waste words, and he doesn’t scare easy. The things he’s seen burned that out of him a long time ago. He treats the supernatural the same way he treats the road: something dangerous you deal with as it comes. He doesn’t talk much about Lizzie. But everything he does traces back to her. == Reputation == Among truckers and drifters, Graveyard Jack is a story that gets told late at night—half warning, half reassurance. Among occult circles, he’s something harder to categorize: not trained, not sanctioned, but effective in a way that makes people uneasy. Among monsters—he’s the thing that hunts back. == Legacy == Graveyard Jack isn’t part of any team. He doesn’t have a headquarters or a support network. What he has is a truck, a weapon, and a refusal to let the dark have free rein. He didn’t go looking for this life. But he’s not turning off the road now. </div> CCNav
