== Background ==

Maija was born into one of the tribal peoples of Drakaal, a land where survival requires strength, cunning, and a willingness to meet danger without hesitation. Fierce and warlike from an early age, she rose to become a princess and leader among her people, wielding both political authority and formidable spiritual power.

Her ambitions soon extended beyond her own tribe. Believing herself strong enough to unite Drakaal by force, Maija led her warriors against neighboring peoples in campaigns of conquest. More than once, her plans were thwarted by [[Crucible:Tyger|Tyger]], whose defense of the valley made him both her greatest obstacle and, eventually, the one person she could not dismiss as weak.

== Fall And Transformation ==

Maija’s repeated failures against Tyger damaged her standing among her own people. In time, they deposed her, rejecting her leadership and ending her dream of ruling Drakaal through force.

That defeat changed the course of her life. Against all expectation, Maija and Tyger fell in love, forming a bond that reshaped both of them. Through that relationship, Maija turned away from conquest and redirected her strength toward protecting the valley she had once tried to dominate.

She did not become gentle. She became wiser.

== Guardian Of Drakaal ==

As Tyger’s lifemate, Maija now serves as one of Drakaal’s defenders. Her knowledge of its tribes, ancient spirits, dangerous beasts, and hidden powers makes her an invaluable guardian. She remains proud, commanding, and dangerous, but her loyalty is now given to the preservation of the valley rather than its conquest.
