'''Matinee''' is the name given to a mysterious young man discovered in the ruins of a destroyed San Francisco theater following a catastrophic demonic summoning. With no memory of his past and no identity beyond a single ticket stub, he became one of the most enigmatic members of [[Crucible:The Midnight Men|the Midnight Men]].

== Origin ==

Matinee was found in the wreckage of the Guthrie Theater on Fisherman’s Wharf, the sole survivor of a failed demonic summoning that destroyed the building and killed seventeen people. The ritual, performed by theater owner Bob Ruhlmann using an incomplete and corrupted manuscript, unleashed a destructive entity that consumed everything in its path.

Everything except him.

Pulled from the rubble unconscious and uninjured, Matinee remained in a coma for thirty-eight days. During that time, the Midnight Men hunted and ultimately destroyed the demon responsible. The moment the entity was defeated, Matinee awakened.

He had no memory of his life before the incident.

The only object found on him was a ticket to that afternoon’s matinee.

== The Midnight Men ==

Recognizing both the danger and the mystery surrounding him, [[Crucible:The Midnight Men|the Midnight Men]] took Matinee into their protection. Their interest was twofold: to help him recover, and to understand what he had become.

He integrated into the group quickly, displaying unusual composure for someone who had lost everything he once was. He showed no panic, no grief, and no desperation to reclaim his past—only a quiet insistence that he be judged as he stood.

That alone made him unsettling.
