== Background ==

Born into wealth and influence, Trinity Grace could easily have lived a comfortable life insulated from consequence. Instead, she cultivated a reputation in underground digital circles as a talented white-hat hacker, probing systems for the challenge of it and quietly exposing corruption where she found it.

That curiosity led her somewhere she should never have been.

While infiltrating a hidden network connected to occult activity, Trinity interrupted a summoning ceremony involving entities from a dimension known only as '''Shadow'''. The ritual collapsed catastrophically, but instead of killing her, it changed her. Trinity emerged with the ability to channel strange extradimensional energies tied to the realm the cult had attempted to access.

She took the name '''Mistral'''.

== Legacy ==

Trinity is the great-granddaughter of the Golden Age heroes [[Crucible:Matinee|Matinee]] and [[Crucible:Zephyr|Zephyr]]. Some occult researchers and mystics believe her transformation was not random at all, but connected to dormant traits or spiritual influences inherited through her bloodline.

Mistral herself is not yet certain how much of her power comes from the Shadow realm—and how much may already have been waiting inside her.

== Early Career ==

Following the emergence of her powers, Mistral briefly worked alongside [[Crucible:Kodiak|Kodiak]] and later became associated with [[Crucible:Watchstar|Watchstar]]. Although powerful, she was inexperienced and often overwhelmed by the strange nature of her own abilities.

Over time, she gravitated toward New York’s darker and more street-level corners, where her talents proved particularly effective.

== Night Shift ==

Mistral eventually partnered with the vigilante [[Crucible:Manhunter|Manhunter]] as part of [[Crucible:Night Shift|Night Shift]], becoming one of the city’s major crimefighters. The contrast between the two became well known: Manhunter’s disciplined tactical precision balanced against Mistral’s instinctive, unpredictable use of supernatural power.

Their partnership proved highly effective against organized crime, occult threats, and metahuman violence.

=== Nigel Stewart (“Ripper”) ===
Driver and bodyguard. A former member of the French Foreign Legion with a murky past and expertise in driving, firearms, and close combat.

=== Martine Harrosh ===
Bodyguard and security specialist. A former Israeli Defense Force sniper and Krav Maga instructor. Martine frequently commands Trinity’s security detail in Jack Wesley’s absence and is considered extremely dangerous.

== Personality ==

Trinity Grace is intelligent, restless, and deeply curious, often pushing herself into situations simply because she cannot tolerate unanswered questions. Beneath her confidence lies uncertainty about what she has become and how much influence the Shadow realm may truly have over her.

She dislikes feeling controlled, manipulated, or protected.

Which is unfortunate, considering how many people are trying to do all three.

== Reputation ==

Among New York vigilantes, Mistral has developed a reputation as one of the city’s most unpredictable supernatural operatives. Criminals fear her ability to appear from darkness without warning, while occult circles increasingly regard her as someone dangerously connected to forces beyond human understanding.
