'''Mr. Frost''' is the criminal identity of '''Sydney Fauntleroy Harris''', a bitter and eccentric inventor who transformed himself from an overlooked cryogenics-lab janitor into one of the modern era’s more persistent cold-themed supervillains. Armed with a collection of freeze weapons, improvised cryogenic gadgets, and rocket-powered “super-skates,” Mr. Frost embraced crime partly for profit and partly out of resentment toward a world that spent years mocking him.

He is living proof that humiliation and access to industrial refrigeration equipment are a dangerous combination.

== Early Life ==

Sydney Harris spent most of his life being underestimated.

Short, awkward, and saddled with the painfully formal middle names '''Fauntleroy Harris''', Sydney endured constant ridicule from classmates, coworkers, and nearly everyone else unfortunate enough to discover his full name. Though intelligent and mechanically gifted, Harris rarely received recognition for his talents.

Instead, people remembered the jokes.

Over time the humiliation hardened into bitterness.

Harris eventually found work as a janitor at a cryogenics research laboratory, where he quietly observed the scientists and engineers around him while tinkering with discarded equipment and prototype technologies after hours.

The researchers barely noticed him.

That turned out to be a mistake.

== Becoming Mr. Frost ==

Using stolen components, salvaged cryogenic systems, and his own mechanical ingenuity, Harris gradually assembled a bizarre arsenal of cold-based weaponry and mobility devices.

At some point, resentment finally overcame restraint.

Adopting the name '''Mr. Frost''', Harris embarked on a criminal career driven by equal parts greed, revenge fantasy, and desperate need for recognition. Banks, armored cars, laboratories, and wealthy businesses soon found themselves targeted by a sneering little criminal gliding through the streets on rocket-powered skates while freezing everything in sight.

To Harris, every crime felt like payback for years of humiliation.

== The Desperadoes ==

Mr. Frost eventually became associated with [[Crucible:The Desperadoes|the Desperadoes]], whose collection of eccentric, second-string criminals suited both his abilities and personality perfectly.

Within the group, Frost gained a reputation as irritable, sarcastic, and surprisingly competent technologically. Though not the most physically intimidating member, he frequently provided tactical gadgets, escape plans, and support systems for the team’s operations.

He also complained constantly.

== Marriage To Sheila Pugnatowski ==

For a time, Sydney Harris was married to '''Sheila Pugnatowski''', another costumed criminal operating within the supervillain community. The marriage was notoriously volatile, filled with arguments, criminal schemes, financial disasters, and mutual insults.

Eventually the relationship collapsed entirely.

After Sheila later attempted to go legitimate, she publicly dismissed Sydney as “a bum,” a remark that reportedly enrages him to this day.

Mr. Frost generally responds by insisting she “never appreciated genius.”

== Technology ==

Mr. Frost relies entirely upon self-designed cryogenic technology and mobility systems.

His arsenal includes:

His stories blended comic-book gadget crime, underdog frustration, eccentric humor, and Silver/Bronze Age-style themed villainy into a character who remained entertainingly persistent despite rarely achieving major success.

Because Sydney Harris spent his whole life being overlooked.

So he made absolutely certain nobody would forget him once the freeze rays came out.
