This will only be embarrassing for you if you resist!β <br>β Parrotman </div> Parrotman is the costumed identity of Gorey Higginbotham, an eccentric heir turned self-styled avenger who patrols the New Jersey underworld in a brightly colored feathered costume. Though widely regarded as absurd, he has proven, against all expectations, to be a remarkably effective crimefighter. == Background == Gorey Higginbotham was born into wealth as the heir to the Higginbotham Waxed Paper fortune. For much of his early life, he lived exactly as expected: comfortably, aimlessly, and with no particular direction beyond leisure. That changed after what he describes as a vision. According to Higginbotham, an ancient Aztec parrot deity named H'neeputdaketalan appeared to him and commanded him to take up the cause of justice. Whether this experience was mystical, psychological, or something else entirely has never been determined. Gorey did not question it. He got to work. == Transformation == Rather than immediately don a costume and begin fighting crime, Gorey undertook a prolonged and surprisingly disciplined period of preparation. He trained his body through rigorous exercise, studied martial arts, sought instruction from professional detectives, and applied himself to learning the practical skills required for crimefighting. He also designed his costume. Carefully. Extensively. After this process was complete, he emerged as Parrotman, a figure as visually striking as he is conceptually baffling. == Career == Parrotman began operating in New Jersey, targeting criminal organizations with a mixture of theatricality and unexpected competence. His methods, which combine distraction, non-lethal weaponry, and direct confrontation, have proven effective enough to earn him a place among the Good Guys. While many initially assumed he would be a liability, his performance in the field has forced a reassessment. He appears to be exactly what he claims to be. == Skills == Parrotman is far more capable than his presentation suggests. * Skilled martial artist * Trained investigator * Proficient with a range of non-lethal weapons and devices * Strong physical conditioning His preparation was thorough. Unusually so. == Technology == Parrotman employs a variety of gadgets suited to his non-lethal approach, though the specifics vary from mission to mission. His equipment is often colorful, unconventional, and designed as much for effect as for function. The effect works. == Personality == Gorey Higginbotham is enthusiastic, theatrical, and entirely sincere. He approaches crimefighting with absolute conviction, never acknowledging the absurdity others perceive in his methods or appearance. He does not see himself as unusual. He sees himself as necessary. == Reputation == Among criminals, Parrotman is a source of confusion and, increasingly, concern. His unpredictability and persistence make him difficult to counter, and his dramatic approach ensures he is remembered. Among allies, he occupies a unique position somewhere between comic relief and genuine asset. He earns his place. == Legacy == Parrotman stands as an example of something rare in the modern era: a hero who chose his role not out of tragedy or necessity, but out of belief. Whether that belief was inspired by divine intervention or personal revelation remains unclear, but its results are undeniable. He may not be what anyone expected. He is, nonetheless, effective. </div> CCNav
