Armed with a revolutionary computerized “assault cannon” capable of manufacturing and firing nearly any type of ammunition on demand, Raider became one of the modern era’s most dangerous high-tech mercenary leaders and the founder of the villain combat unit known as [[Crucible:S.W.A.T.|S.W.A.T.]]

Unlike many supervillains driven by ideology or madness, Raider’s motivation is brutally simple:

he got tired of being overlooked.

== Early Career ==

Nash Sutton began his professional life as a highly gifted engineer specializing in advanced weapons systems, ammunition design, and battlefield technologies. Recruited by [[Crucible:Andrews International|Andrews International]], Sutton contributed to numerous classified defense and experimental weapons projects during the rise of modern superhuman conflict.

Unfortunately for Sutton, Andrews International employed many brilliant minds.

And Nash took every missed promotion personally.

Despite his undeniable talent, Sutton repeatedly found himself passed over for prestigious assignments, leadership positions, and public recognition. Colleagues received credit for projects he believed he had improved or outright saved. Executives dismissed his increasingly volatile complaints as ego and paranoia.

Over time, resentment consumed him.

== The Assault Cannon ==

Convinced the company had stolen his future, Sutton secretly developed a prototype weapon system outside official company channels.

The result was the '''assault cannon''' — an extraordinarily sophisticated modular firearms platform capable of assembling and firing multiple forms of ammunition dynamically during combat.

The weapon transformed Sutton from disgruntled engineer into something far more dangerous.

One morning, after completing the prototype, Sutton brought it to work.

And began shooting.

After attacking Andrews personnel and escaping with his prototype weapon, Sutton adopted the identity '''Raider''' and entered the criminal underworld as a mercenary technologist, arms specialist, and professional combat operative.

Unlike flamboyant mad scientists, Raider approached villainy with military pragmatism. He viewed himself not as insane, but as finally taking what competence should have earned him in the first place.

And if the world would not grant them willingly, he would seize them at gunpoint.
