'''Scorpio''' is the alias of '''Pilar Rodrigues''', a silent and deadly assassin whose career has carried her from the shadow wars of [[Crucible:HAVOC|HAVOC]] to the bloody world of cartel enforcement, supervillain teams, and high-tech mercenary operations. Scarred physically and psychologically after surviving betrayal and near death, Scorpio rebuilt herself through radical cybernetic surgery and emerged colder, deadlier, and more emotionally withdrawn than before.

Although fully capable of speech, Scorpio almost never speaks at all.

No one is entirely certain why.

Some believe the silence is psychological.

Others think it is a deliberate intimidation tactic.

Most people wisely avoid asking.

== Early Career ==

Pilar Rodrigues first surfaced in intelligence circles as an operative connected to [[Crucible:HAVOC|HAVOC]], where she received advanced training in infiltration, assassination, close combat, and covert operations. Precise details of her service remain classified or deliberately obscured, but surviving records indicate she excelled in assignments requiring patience, stealth, and absolute ruthlessness.

Unlike many flamboyant killers, Rodrigues operated quietly and efficiently. She completed missions without unnecessary theatrics, rarely drew attention to herself, and developed a reputation for disappearing long before anyone realized she had been present.

Following her departure from HAVOC, Scorpio drifted into the service of Latin American drug cartels and criminal syndicates, where her skills made her extraordinarily valuable.

== Betrayal ==

During a cartel operation that went catastrophically wrong, Rodrigues was betrayed by her employers and left for dead. Reports differ regarding the details, though all agree she suffered catastrophic injuries that should have killed her.

Instead, she survived through radical cybernetic reconstruction.

== Xodiac ==

Scorpio later came to the attention of the supervillain organizer behind [[Crucible:Xodiac|Xodiac]], a criminal team structured around zodiac-themed identities and operations. As Scorpio, Rodrigues served as one of the group's primary assassins and tactical operatives during several major confrontations with [[Crucible:Watchstar|Watchstar]].

Unlike many members of Xodiac, Scorpio preferred remaining in the background rather than engaging in speeches or displays of ego. She functioned more like a precision weapon than a conventional supervillain.

Following Xodiac’s eventual defeat, Scorpio was incarcerated alongside several other members of the group.

Prison changed very little about her.

== MEK ==

Several years after her imprisonment, Scorpio was recruited by [[Crucible:Channel|Channel]] into [[Crucible:MEK|MEK]], whose mixture of advanced technology, criminal expertise, and tactical operations suited her skill set perfectly.

Within MEK, Scorpio serves as infiltrator, assassin, and combat specialist. Even among hardened criminals, she possesses an unnerving reputation for patience and emotional detachment.

Few members of MEK entirely trust her.

This does not seem to concern Scorpio in the slightest.

Scorpio became one of the more enigmatic assassin villains of the modern era, blending espionage thriller elements, cybernetic enhancement, cartel violence, and silent-killer aesthetics into a memorable recurring adversary.

Because Pilar Rodrigues survived betrayal once already.
