'''Watchstar West''' was created during a period of rapid expansion within [[Crucible:Watchstar|Watchstar]], when the parent organization added numerous new heroes and expanded its operations beyond the East Coast.

To strengthen Watchstar’s presence in California and the Pacific region, [[Crucible:Cobra|Cobra]], [[Crucible:Kodiak|Kodiak]], [[Crucible:Jade II|Jade]], and [[Crucible:Enigma|the Silver Spectre]] established a new headquarters in Los Angeles using the abandoned facilities of the old [[Crucible:Stellar Studios|Stellar Studios]] movie lot.

What began as a regional branch quickly evolved into one of the most respected superhero teams on the West Coast.

Known for a more relaxed and unconventional atmosphere than the parent organization, Watchstar West nevertheless earned a reputation for professionalism, effectiveness, and tremendous raw power. Over time, the team became deeply connected to Los Angeles and developed its own distinct identity within the broader Watchstar tradition.

== Sierra Force ==

Watchstar West’s greatest crisis came during the invasion of [[Crucible:Isola|Isola]], when political conflicts and disagreements within the broader Watchstar organization caused the team to lose its official affiliation.

Rather than disband, many members remained together and evolved into the independent team known as '''Sierra Force'''.

Over time, relations between the two organizations improved, and Watchstar West was eventually restored as an official branch of Watchstar once again.

== Legacy ==

Watchstar West proved that the Watchstar ideal could survive beyond a single headquarters or generation of heroes. The team established a lasting heroic tradition on the West Coast and helped shape many younger heroes who would later become major figures in the superhero community.

Though it began as an expansion team, Watchstar West ultimately became one of the defining chapters in Watchstar history.
