“Every problem has a price. Most people only discover that after they have already paid it.”
— Mr. Fixx
Background
Shortly after the emergence of Night City, the enigmatic figure known only as Mr. Fixx began appearing within its increasingly chaotic underworld. Calm, impeccably composed, and seemingly connected to forces beyond ordinary human crime syndicates, Fixx rapidly established himself as one of the city’s most influential shadow operators.
Although not openly aligned with any single faction, Fixx developed a reputation as a broker of information, negotiations, introductions, and favors. Criminal organizations, smugglers, mercenaries, alien refugees, black-market traders, rogue scientists, and even certain desperate heroes have all dealt with him at one time or another.
In a city fractured by gang warfare, extraterrestrial influence, occult corruption, and collapsing authority, Fixx became one of the few individuals capable of moving freely between rival groups without immediately being killed.
His true goals remain unknown.
Many observers believe that Fixx serves as a representative or intermediary for a larger offworld criminal network connected to the alien Karnak powers operating behind the scenes in Night City. Others suspect his loyalties are entirely personal and transactional.
Skills And Influence
Mr. Fixx is an exceptionally intelligent negotiator and diplomat with an uncanny ability to navigate dangerous political and criminal situations. He possesses extensive knowledge of Night City’s hidden factions, secret alliances, underground markets, and illicit operations.
He rarely threatens anyone directly, yet even heavily armed supervillains and gang leaders tend to treat him with extreme caution.
Fixx also possesses access to advanced Karnak technology far beyond what should be available on Earth through conventional means.
Nature
Persistent rumors suggest that Mr. Fixx may not be biologically human at all. Certain encounters, injuries, and observations have led some to speculate that he is actually a mechanical being, artificial intelligence, or highly sophisticated android.
Fixx himself has never addressed these rumors.
Notes
Mr. Fixx became one of the defining mystery figures associated with the early KNIGHT/WATCH era and the emergence of Night City, embodying the strange intersection of noir crime fiction, alien conspiracy, and cyberpunk underworld politics that characterized the setting.
