Real Name: Rogue Dawson

Background: A gambler in Silver Age Las Vegas, Rogue Dawson was savagely beaten by thugs working for mobster Julian Caesar. Left for dead but surviving by the unlikeliest of circumstances, Rogue's luck changed completely. Adopting the identity of the costumed crimefighter Blackjack, he declared war on the mobsters who ran the city.

Status: Retired

Skills: Dawson was an expert gambler and card sharp, as well as a crack shot with a pistol. He also had incredible luck that saw him through the most dangerous circumstances in style.

Technology: Blackjack liked to make use of a variety of non-lethal weaponry, including gas guns and stun darts.

Sidekicks: Blackjack had a pair of sidekicks who assisted him in his adventures:

• Valentine (Valerie Murphy) was the daughter of the 1940s crimefighter The Silhouette, and was trained by him as a martial artist and detective. She worked as a showgirl and entertainer at several casinos before allying with Blackjack.
• Broo (Theo Martin) was a bruiser and casino bouncer who was rescued by Blackjack from the mob. Because of an accident suffered during his youth, most of Broo's skull bones had been replaced by metal, giving him a built-in helmet in a fight. Broo served as Blackjack's chauffeur and bodyguard.
