Crucible:Birds of Prey

Exiled from the planet Ayura, a world of avian humanoids on the fringes of Karnak space, four warriors stole an intelligent crystal computer called the Dark Soul, and used its power in an attempt to dominate the Earth. The Dark Soul is apparently related to the same crystal matrix that gave Jade her powers.

The Birds of Prey were stopped by the Sentries, but returned several times to menace Earth. They later encountered Viceroy with the Liberators in deep space and became foes of that team.

They are currently serving time in a Karnak prison asteroid.

The Birds of Prey include:

• Osprey is the team's leader. A general on his home planet, he had a firm command of strategy and tactics, and is a skilled combatant in all modes of battle.
• Crow, Osprey's brother, is an expert hand-to-hand combatant. He is mute but can communicate with gestures. A rare mutation among his people left him with an aversion to bright lights.
• Sparrowhawk is Osprey's mate. She was best able to utilize the mental energies of the Dark Soul and could project psionic and energetic attacks.
• Condor, who served under Osprey on Ayura, possesses massive strength and durability which were only enhanced by the Dark Soul.
