Real Name: Roberto Velazquez

Background: Roberto Velazquez was the youngest son of a famous South American dictator. Trained as an assassin, he convinced the infamous ninja clan known as the Secret Swords to train him. He became one of their most feared operatives and was the partner of Avenger for a time. Later, after Avenger foreswore the ninja clan, Tarantula became his worst foe.

Tarantula later became a kingpin in the South American drug trade, pursued by the Strong Persuaders.

Group Affiliation: Former member of the Secret Swords

Status: Presumed dead

Skills: Tarantula is a master of martial arts, stealth and evasion.

Technology: In combat, Tarantula favored a pair of matching sais.
