Crucible:Bear's Den
The Bear's Den is a downtown pub owned by Kodiak, not far from Washington Square Park in New York City. New York superhumans (as well as heroes from out of town) often stop by to enjoy a drink here. (Overcoat practically lives here. Kid Overcoat would like to, but he's not 21 yet.) The Bear's Den specializes in beer, but they keep exotic spirits of all kinds on hand, including many extraterrestrial and other-dimensional varieties.
The Bear's Den was originally owned by a former Russian Silver Age superhero named Kosmo Gagarin, who went by the name Kid Sputnik and had emigrated to the US after the Cold War ended. Kosmo filled the bar with memorabilia from his time as a superhero and collected items from other heroes as well. Kodiak befriended Kosmo shortly after arriving in New York, and even worked part-time in the bar for a time. When Kosmo passed from inoperable cancer, he willed the bar to Kodiak, who renamed it but kept the Bear in the name as a tribute to Kosmo.
Although Kodiak owns the establishment and often tends bar there, the Bear's Den is managed and run by a former supervillain, Sheila Pugnatowski.
